Harvard women’s basketball co-captain Hana Peljto is among 31 nominees for the Senior CLASS award, given annually to the top senior male and female basketball player in Division I. The two-time defending Ivy League Player of the Year, Peljto is averaging 22.5 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Crimson this year and already has been named Ivy League Player of the Week twice this season.
Established during the 2001-2002 season, the Senior CLASS award is meant to honor players who buck the trend of leaving school early to enter the professional ranks and stay in school through their senior years.
The field will be whittled down in early February when a committee comprised of national media selects 10 finalists from the group.
Peljto is Harvard’s leading scorer and rebounder this season.
