SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Anthony and Nicholas Tornaritis

By Gabriel M. Velez, Crimson Staff Writer

From the very beginning, Anthony and Nicholas Tornaritis both earned playing time with the Harvard men’s soccer team.

The twins, local products who attended Groton-Dunstable and played on the team there together, had played soccer and left their mark on the field together at a number of levels. Their careers reached a climax with the Crimson, as both became mainstays and impact players by the end of their four seasons.

Nicholas finished this season second on the team with 13 points and three goals, while Anthony registered seven points (three goals, one assist). Nicholas was named to the All-Ivy second team in his final campaign.

“This year, it was a little tougher [for the Tornaritis twins] because everyone was keying in on them,” said Harvard coach John Kerr following their final game. “But they really put this program on the map.”

With two goals in the victorious season finale, Nicholas made sure that even with the extra attention, he and his brother would go out with a win.
