<p>The spotlight shined on the Harvard men’s basketball team last winter when the Crimson soundly defeated No. 17 Boston College by 12 points, on the road, two days after the Eagles had defeated eventual national champion North Carolina. Slumping Lions Not To Be Underestimated
Coming into the season, Columbia looked like it would a title contender. At the start of the season, senior quarterback M.A. Olawale is a 6’1” and 224 lbs. looked poised to do damage throughout the Ancient Eight. Harvard, on the other hand, looked to the less physically-imposing field general Collier Winters in his first year starting behind center. Entering the eighth week of play, there seems to have been a role reversal.
No. 5 Cornell To Provide Early Test on Road
Facing two ECAC opponents this weekend, the Crimson men’s hockey team will attempt to replicate last week’s win over Dartmouth. Harvard (1-0, 1-0 ECAC) will face Colgate (2-2-3) tonight and archrival No. 5 Cornell (1-0) on Saturday. The two New York road contests will be the first games away from the Bright Hockey Center this season. Last year, the Crimson went 0-11-5 away from home. With this in mind, the players acknowledge the added challenge of attaining victories this weekend.
Ivy Hopes Ride on Must-Win Match
In 2008, an overtime loss on the final day of the regular season left the Harvard men’s soccer team green with envy of Dartmouth, which gained a share of the Ivy title with Penn after the the Crimson’s loss. This year, the teams are again battling for position atop the Ivy League, but this time Harvard has the chance to start taking business into its own hands.
