Last Friday night, it was another tale of two halves—a sloppy start followed by a solid second half—for Harvard (17-7, 7-2 Ivy), as it left Pizzatola Sports Center with a 65-54 win against host Brown (7-18, 4-7).

The Crimson women’s team (18-7, 9-2 Ivy) improved its win streak to seven games with a 68-60 victory over Yale (12-14, 7-5).

Lippert Takes Her Game to The Next Level
Basketball standout Victoria Lippert has a rather surprising item to notch on to her growing lists of accomplishments: a black belt in taekwondo. The freshman admits to trying a number of sports growing up before finally getting serious about basketball in high school. But for the Harvard women’s basketball team, her choice to pick up the ball rather than keep the belt was a blessing.

On a Harvard women’s basketball team that has no seniors on its roster, freshman Victoria Lippert, shown here in earlier action, has played an integral role in the Crimson’s success so far this season. The rookie, who can play both the guard and forward positions, recently had a career-high 28 points in Harvard’s crucial conference victory over Columbia last week.
Lip Service
Freshman Victoria Lippert, shown here in earlier action, tallied a two-game total of 48 points for the second-straight weekend. Lippert’s double-double performance against Cornell pushed Harvard to a 74-53 win.
Harvard Easily Dispatches Big Red
Although back in Cambridge its male counterpart was struggling against a gritty Cornell lineup, the Harvard women’s basketball team had no trouble disposing of a young Big Red squad.
Markley, Lippert Help Crimson Hold on for Win
With time for one last play and the Harvard women’s basketball team holding on to a two-point lead, Columbia All-Ivy forward Judie Lomax put up the final shot, confident that it would fall through the net to send the game into overtime.
On The Mark

Women's Basketball Dominates Yale on Both Ends of Floor
The Crimson (13-7, 4-2 Ivy), employing a lethal zone defense, stifled the Bulldogs’ offensive attack all night while creating plenty of offensive opportunities in the paint 94 feet away in a 88-65 win Friday at Lavietes Pavilion.
Lippert’s Career High Brings Victory
When sophomore guard Brogan Berry calmly stepped up to the foul line and sank two free throws to give Harvard a 15-point lead with 33 seconds left, there was a palpable sigh of relief on the Crimson bench.
