J. O. Stubbs '21 will succeed E. L. Bigelow '21 as hoad coach of the hockey team this winter, according to an announcement made yesterday by W. J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics.

Stubbs played defense with Captain N. S. Walker '21 on the championship team which defeated Yale 5 to 4 on January 17, 1920 and 3 to 0 on February 21 of that year, and for the past two seasons has been assistant coach under Bigelow, concentrating on the defense.

In appointing Stubbs, the University continues its policy of having graduate coaches in hockey.

Bigelow, who is retiring from athletics to devote himself to business, has been hockey coach at the University for three years, having produced during that time two of the best sextets Harvard has ever had. The record of his coaching regime held 27 victories, two ties and nine defeats.
