Wall, Elected GSA President, Asks Non-Discrimination Policy

By Paul A. Engelmayer

The Gay Students Association (GSA) elected J. French Wall '83 its president by acclamation last night. Wall succeeds Sarah E. Yedinsky '83, the first female president of the group.

Wall immediately called for renewed efforts to secure a University-wide policy forbidding discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and pledged to bring the GSA's fight for the policy to the Faculty this year.

Though the Faculty Council rejected the policy last spring after several meetings, Wall said the group is considering bringing the request back to the council this year, in the hopes that the "better atmosphere on campus" this year will make the council more receptive.

Wall also said the GSA will step us its campaign against intolerance in the Houses, and members will meet with all Houses, masters and senior tutors this term.

Joining Wall in the GSA's new hierarchy are Patrick J. Flaherty '83, vice-president; Jonathan L. Handel '82-1, treasurer; and Liz Grisaru '82, secretary.
