Sundays by the River

Did you spend the weekend inside, wistfully wondering where the summer went?

Well, thanks to the Sunday Parkland Games, you can enjoy the last weeks of humidity and visible grass with a side of downward dog. Hosted by the Charles River Conservancy and the Department of Conservation and Recreation, the games run on Sundays (concluding on September 30th) from 2-5 p.m. near the Week's footbridge.

"It's a pretty diverse crowd. I've seen everyone from our little one to 5 or 6 year olds," Jamie L. Cochran, the wife of a Harvard Business School student, said as a child wailed in the background.

Set apart from the families sitting near abstract toys, Michelle A. Chang '14 and her blockmates tossed a frisbee around. She hadn't heard that the games were going on, but appreciated that they brought people out.

"It's such a nice day. We decided it's good to get out and enjoy the sunshine while it lasts," Chang said.

So even though the average age may be a bit lower than we're used to here on campus, there are games available and free yoga offered from 4-5 p.m.
