Here’s everything you’ll Wanna Know for Crimson Jam tonight!

What is Crimson Jam?

Harvard’s beginning-of-the-year concert to welcome you back to the school year. It’s a Sweet Escape from the three PSETS you already have due — which will absolutely be there tomorrow, judging you from Canvas. Consider this your last chance at Freedom before the school year really kicks into full swing.

Who’s going?

Only You. Just kidding! A good chunk of the student body shows up, and we’ll be there. This is also one of the biggest headliners for Crimson Jam that we’ve had in Years, so it’ll be fun to show up.

What should I bring?

If you want to sit down for dinner, a picnic blanket’s a good idea. Especially since the ground might be a bit wet In the Middle of the Yard.

What should I wear?

This is Harvard Yard, not Coachella. Wear whatever you want.

What time do I get there?

Student bands go on around 6 p.m., and they are absolutely incredible. You don’t want to miss them! The headliner will probably start a bit past Seven p.m.

Who is performing?

Alesso!!!

Who is that?

A DJ and dance music producer — with many nostalgic songs to help you Get Your Groove On before school picks up. Get ready to Turn Up the Bass and Surrender to The Rhythm of the Night, and then hit Felipe’s or Jefe’s after.

Why should I go?

All the dhalls are closed, so the Yard has become your only dinner option by default. Might as well go if a DJ’s there too.

But also: it’s genuinely a pretty Cool way to start the semester — we’re lucky that we get not just one, but two concerts every year. It’s one of the only nights where you’ll run into literally everyone you know, all in one shared space. Lonely Hearts are reunited, and dormant group chats over the summer are suddenly reactivated to coordinate plans. And to the seniors: this is One Last Time you get to do this before most of us will have to enter the 9-7 corporate world, and group hangouts suddenly take weeks, if not months, to initiate.
