False-bottomed crates containing sitars, incense, and 600 pounds of hash arrived at Logan Airport from Delhi on Feb. 11. Inspectors discovered the contraband, marked it with a fluorescent substance, repacked the crates, and allowed them to be forwarded to the addressee.

Two days later, officials seized three men and the hash in North Andover

After tracing the shipment through the carrier. Air India, others apprehended Rikhye, an American friend, and 900 pounds more in Delhi.

A former schoolmate of Rikhye described him as "one of the wilder characters to pass through Harvard."

Another added, "I'm really sorry to see him put away. And I hate to see all that beautiful hash put away. But, even in his exit, Ravi pulled a beautiful one."
