SPORTS BRIEF: Harvard's Murr Center to host US Open Squash Championships

By The Crimson Staff, Crimson Staff Writer

The Murr Center, home to the Harvard squash and tennis teams, will play host to yet another elite group this fall—the US Open Squash Championships.

The tournament, held at Boston’s Symphony Hall for the past three years, will take place Nov. 4-8, 2005, and should draw the top 24 male squash players in the world.

The women’s competition is also expected to bring many highly ranked players, including former Crimson captain and four-time All-American Louisa Hall ’04.

In addition, the New England Junior Open will bring in over 250 young squash players to the tournament.

Competitors will play on Harvard’s 13 existing squash courts as well as on a new four-sided portable glass court, to be erected on two of the Murr Center’s indoor tennis courts.

Tickets go on sale in June; for more information, call 877-524-5685 or visit www.usopensquash.com.
