FM's own version of the Sartorialist, Chika-Dike O. Nwokike '15, stopped to talk to Frenchie O'Brien, a homeless woman who is passionate about selling books. Five years ago, she and her husband began their street-side store, "Almost Banned in Harvard Square Booksellers," with two tables filled with books. In the beginning of their endeavor, Frenchie and Ken butted heads with the City of Cambridge several times, regarding 50-cent permits (that are apparently non-existent), accusations of First Amendment infringement, and the City of Cambridge intentionally moving their tables onto manholes (which are federal property). In their third time in court, Frenchie and Ken won, cementing the existence of their street-side stand.
