“Snowmageddon” was not the only blizzard to hit Pennsylvania this weekend. A flurry of lethal three-pointers struck Philadelphia on Saturday evening, as the visiting Harvard women’s basketball squad (12-7, 3-2 Ivy) took the city by storm.

It is no easy feat for a basketball team to beat two opponents by double digits in the course of a week. But it’s even harder to maintain that dominance and consistency heading into the next game.

Junior co-captain Christine Matera enjoyed a strong weekend, leading the team in scoring both nights. The Crimson standout notched 19 points both nights, knocking down five three-pointers against the Quakers.

Junior co-captain Christine Matera helped the Crimson to a weekend sweep at home with a hot hand from beyond the three-point line. Matera sank all four of her treys against Columbia and added four more against Cornell to propel Harvard to its first two conference victories.

Freshman Elle Hagadorn had a career-high 11 points in Harvard’s loss to Florida State, teaming with classmate Miriam Rutzen, who led the team in rebounds with six boards. But it wasn’t enough for the Crimson to compete with nationally-ranked Seminoles, who earned an easy win.
