'Flat'
After challenging a series of ranked teams over the last month, the Harvard men’s lacrosse team “came out flat” against No. 12/13 Princeton, according to Crimson coach Chris Wojcik ’96. Junior Carl Zimmerman, above, led Harvard with two goals as the visitors fell to the Tigers, 14-6, Saturday.
Linsanity
Freshman Amanda Lin was victorious at the No. 1 doubles spot with partner co-captain Hideko Tachibana as well as at No. 6 singles.
All Hail Haley
Freshman Haley Davis, shown above in previous action, had a team-high two RBIs in the Harvard softball team’s 6-2 win over Brown. Davis went hitless in game two though, as the Crimson failed to sweep the Bears Sunday, falling, 5-4. Brown posted four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, including the game-winning tally, which came across on a wild pitch.
Left at the Altar
Freshman pitcher Morgan Groom was one out away from a no-hitter on Saturday at Brown. The rookie had a no-hit shutout going through six and two-thirds innings when Bears’ pinch hitter Jamie Pospishil singled to left before the Harvard defense threw out the lead runner to end the game.
Andy's Dandy
Co-captain Andy Nguyen has been dominant for Harvard in the No. 4 singles slot, registering a 12-2 record on the year. The senior will need to continue his strong form if the Crimson hopes to keep its pristine record.
