Crimson Can’t Overlook Big Green
As Aesop’s fable of the tortoise and the hare shows, an overwhelming favorite is prone to underestimate an opponent. While “slow and steady” might not be the best description of the Dartmouth football team, it was only six short years ago that the Big Green and its 2-4 record played the appropriately-colored role of tortoise, shattering the Crimson’s hope for an undefeated season with a 30-16 victory at Harvard Stadium.
Crimson Looks To Run over Rival Princeton
The Harvard football team’s practices this week had the feel of uncharted waters. Coming off its worst loss in three years—a rather shocking 35-18 home defeat at the hands of the Patriot League’s Lafayette College, the Crimson (3-2, 2-0 Ivy) looks to rebound tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. as it takes on Ivy League rival Princeton (1-4, 0-2 Ivy) at Harvard Stadium.

Multi-faceted Crimson To Take on Leopards
Imagine playing Kill the Carrier on an open field. Now imagine playing it with 300-pound men. And you have the ball. That’s what junior quarterback Collier Winters will be facing this weekend when the Crimson (3-1, 2-0 Ivy) takes on Lafayette (4-1).
tough as SCALES
Thus far, freshman running back Treavor Scales has made his mark on Harvard’s running game, providing one third of a three-pronged attack that has played a large role in the Crimson’s 2-0 start to the Ivy season. On the opposite side of ball, Harvard will have to contend with a similarly-structured Lehigh running game, which will prove crucial if the weather turns sour.
UP IN THE AIR
Harvard travels to UConn tonight to match up against a defense that has recorded nine shutouts this season. The Crimson will then host No. 19 Brown on Saturday in a decisive Ivy League battle. The week’s games will test a Harvard team that has recently hit a couple of speed bumps. The squad barely emerged with a win against Yale and had to settle for a tie at Cornell.
Harvard To Face Tests Against Connecticut and Brown
Today marks the start of a pivotal few days for the Harvard men’s soccer team. After a dominant 6-0 start to the season, the Crimson squad has had a reality check following a loss to No. 3 Wake Forest on September 26 and 1-1 draw with unranked Cornell this past Saturday. This afternoon, the Crimson faces a tough matchup against the University of Connecticut (6-2-4), before hosting No. 19 Brown (6-0-4, 2-0 Ivy) on Saturday.
lorditch of the flies
Junior wide receiver Chris Lorditch and the rest of the Crimson offense will have to overcome Cornell’s stingy defense, which limited Yale to just 238 yards last week, to remain in contention for the Ivy title.
Midweek Matchup For No. 8 Harvard
So far this season, opponents of the Harvard men’s soccer team have been denied more times than freshman guys trying to enter final clubs. The Crimson defense, led by sophomore goalkeeper Austin Harms and senior defender Kwaku Nyamekye, has surrendered just three goals in Harvard’s first eight games. The No. 8 Crimson (7-1, 1-0 Ivy) looks to continue its dominance at the back this afternoon when it hosts in-state rival Holy Cross (3-6, 1-1 Patriot) at 3:00 p.m.
Harvard To Play Yale in Ivy League Opener
After a much-talked-about start in which the team won six consecutive games, the No. 8 Harvard men’s soccer team fell at last to then-No. 3 Wake Forest this past weekend. The loss was the first real blemish on an otherwise perfect season. Now the Crimson (6-1) must bounce back for the first time this season, facing Yale in the Ivy League opener. Harvard visits the Bulldogs (2-3-2) tomorrow night in the 96th matchup between the two schools.
