Mayfair in the Square

Mayfair is an annual festival in Cambridge, where local vendors and artists line the streets of Harvard Square show their stuff. This year's event, on May 5th, boasted large crowds, chalk masterpieces, and performances from groups like Mariachi Veritas.


Seven Degrees of Barabasi

Albert-Laszlo Barabasi, Professor and Director of Northeastern University's Center for Complex Network Research (CCNR), participates in the Pforzheimer House's Pforum lecture series on November 27. His talk, titled "From Networks to Human Predictability," focused on the types of networks that are commonly found in the world, and how the understanding of those networks can be advantageous to both individuals and companies.


Taking Care of Business

Workers work to remove fallen tree limbs from Cambridge Common on October 30, after Hurricane Sandy swept through the area on Monday. The storm, which caused Harvard to cancel classes for the first time since 1978, was very windy and resulted in many trees losing branches .


"Page to Screen"

From left to right, authors Nick Flynn (Another Bullshit Night in Suck City), Daniel Handler (A Series of Unfortunate Events), Buzz Bissinger (Friday Night Lights), Rachel Cohn (Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist), and Andrew Dubus III (The House of Sand and Fog) discussed the process involved in turning their books into movies on Friday night at the Old South Church in Boston. The panel, "Page to Screen,"was moderated by Wesley Morris (far right), and was part of the Boston Book Festival's series of lectures over the weekend. After the panel discussion and questions from the audience, all five authors gathered for a signing of their books.
