Track & field co-captain Brian Hill, shown here in earlier action, anchored the Crimson’s 4x800 relay team Saturday at the Penn Relays. Hill turned in a personal best to lead Harvard’s entry—composed of juniors Darcy Wilson and Brian Paison and sophomore Weishen Mead—to a new school record.
Busy Harvard Competes on Both Coasts at Two Invitationals
By taking on the Brutus Hamilton Invitational in Berkeley, Calif., and the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, N.J., the Harvard track squad went coast-to-coast to bring back some school records, season records, and personal bests.

Sophomore Weishen Mead, shown above in earlier action, had a strong performance at the Larry Ellis Invitation in Princeton, N.J., on Saturday. The second-year 800-meter runner came in first place in his heat with a time of 1:53.52. His time was good for third-best overall in the event.

Sophomore Mary Hirst, shown here in previous competition, took first place in the high jump in Saturday’s Harvard-Yale meet with a leap of 1.62 meters. Hers was one of 16 field events won by the Crimson, which totaled over 100 points on the men’s and women’s sides for the first time ever against Yale.
