Boston

The Boston Book Festival, an annual literary event, was held last Saturday, October 15, in Copley Square. The streets and the venues for the workshops were packed with individuals checking out the speaker events featuring world-famous authors, browsing through the many items on sale, or just enjoying the lively scene.

The free book festival in Boston drew authors and spectators alike.

The multitude of children waiting for story time crowd around children's book author Jef Czekaj as he begins reading them his book, Cat Secrets, while dressed up in cat-affiliated attire.

The vendors stationed along Boylston Street and Dartmouth Street offer unique services, such as a fortune telling, in front of their stalls to attract the many festival goers.

Book lovers of all kinds gathered this Saturday at the Boston Book Festival.

Jackson (Harvard Divinity School), and author Sarah Bakewell, speak with host Richard Weissbourd (Harvard GSE and Kennedy School) regarding their experiences that influenced them to write their books at the "How to Live" panel held at the Old South Church Sanctuary.

The festival had many kid-friendly attractions, such as crayons for book making, story-telling time, and individuals dressed up in costumes like the cat in the hat.

Arrests at Occupy Boston

Yesterday, several protestors participating in the Occupy Boston protests expanded from Dewey Square Park into the Rose Kennedy Greenway and adjacent green space between Congress St. and Pearl St. The Boston Police Department announced at 11 p.m. that the property was private and that protesters had to vacate it by midnight, or face trespassing charges.

Protesters wave their signs to draw attention to their issues, including financial reform, support for education, and decreased corporate influence in the electoral process.
