Students Challenge Holiday

A century after Mass. first recognized Columbus Day as a legal holiday, about 30 students gathered outside of Matthews Hall for a candlelight vigil honoring “Dia de La Resistencia Indigena.”


Vigil Recognizes LGBT Suicides

Hundreds of people traded umbrellas for candles last night as they stood in the rain to commemorate the lives lost to suicide due to anti-LGBT bullying and discrimination.


Undergrad Appears on German TV Show

For Paul Glootz ’13, a pleasant weekend trip home to the city of Magdeburg, Germany, culminated in an appearance on a live German national television show on Monday night.


Roommates Faith M. Deis '14, Raina B. Gandhi '14, and Hannah C. Donoghue '14 attended the Fall Thankathon at the Ticknor Lounge in Boylston Hall yesterday to write thank you notes to alumni donors and eat pizza. The first 150 people also received a free Harvard College Fund mug.

Programs for Winter Activities Week Take Shape

Plans for formal programming for this year’s inaugural Optional Winter Activities Week—which runs from Jan. 16 until the beginning of spring semester—have begun to take shape, with both student-initiated and University-sponsored events confirmed for the period.
