Yardfest 2012 Draws Lackluster Crowd

When the three-man group Das Racist took the stage, overlooking the Harvard students gathered at YardFest in Tercentenary Theater, they offered a greeting that perhaps has not been yelled from the steps of Memorial Church before.

Common Spaces Program Returns to Yard

With the return of cheerful, multicolored chairs to the Yard and a line-up of lively performances by Harvard community members and outside artists, The Harvard Common Spaces Program launched last week for the 2012 season.

Lattes and Laptops

On bad-weather days, the inside of the Gato is packed and one is often hard-pressed to find a seat. The small tables and prevalence of laptops often means sharing a table with a new friend, or searching for a new location.

Task Force on Student Voice Solicits Input

Next week, students will have the opportunity to participate in two focus groups that will inform the work of the Task Force on Student Voice, a newly created committee which aims to enhance communication between students, faculty, and staff at Harvard.

Coffee and a Smile

Offering cool drink specials like "the Undertow" or the "Honey Badger Latte", the baristas at the Gato put a cool spin on coffee and tea. Customers can choose from a wide selection of black and green teas in addition to customizing their own lattes with different milks and flavor syrups.

YardFest

YardFest. A hopefully clear sky looks down on a mingling of sweat, mud, and sound. Harvard Yard contains a stage surrounded by everyone from freshmen to seniors. Above, first-years perch precariously on the windowsills of Matthews and Weld, cheering as the performers finish each song. Kind of. Anyway, in just two days students will crowd into the Yard to hear The Nostalgics, Das Racist, 3LAU, and The Cataracts on stage. But until then, here are 10 pump-up songs to get you ready.

Controversial Conversations with Kissinger

One protester was escorted from the premises at the beginning of the event when he attempted to make a citizen's arrest.

The notes feature messages about family, friends, locations, and food, among others. Mather Joins the Adams-Currier-Pfoho Melée

In a conflict which has expanded in the course of a single day to involve an unprecedented three Houses, a fourth House has now joined the alliance against Adams House. Led by a mysterious individual known only by the alias "General Mistie," Mather House Committee issued a "Decree to Save the Tree" to declare war against Adams if they continue hostilities against Currier House.

Pfoho Clarifies Position in Adams-Currier Kerfuffle

In a not-altogether-unsurprising turn of events, Pforzheimer House announced its position on the recent outbreak of war between Adams and Currier Houses. In the so-called "Mario Doctrine," named after Pforzheimer Building Manager and "Secretary of Depfense" Mario Leon and modeled on the Monroe Doctrine, Pforzheimer residents outlined that they "will not tolerate expansionist efforts from any River House."

BREAKING: Adams Declares War on Currier

A state of war exists between the Quad and the River. Last night, in response to a sabotage of the Adams House mascot poll by students in Currier House, Adams House suspended its poll and declared war on Currier.
