HUDS Switches to Cage-Free Eggs

Harvard University Dining Services hatched a new plan on Monday—effective Oct. 31, all the eggs served in University dining halls will be cage-free.


Dinner To Evoke Culinary History

For Harvard students in the 17th century, roasted lamb in the dining hall was a common fare, thanks to the prevalence of sheep in Cambridge 375 years ago. But even though the sheep are now gone, the legs of lamb will be back at today’s dinner in celebration of Harvard’s 375th anniversary.


The above model depicts the cake that Joanne B. Chang ’91, the owner of the Boston-based bakery chain Flour, has designed for Harvard’s 375th Anniversary celebration. The cake is expected to feed up to 5,000 people and will be served at an event in Tercentenary Theater on Friday.
