Finding the Back of the Net

Harvard celebrates a goal in a 2019 matchup with Merrimack. The Crimson has had 5 opportunities to celebrate goals this season, after 4-0 and 1-1 results, and narrowly missed a chance for a sixth goal in Saturday's extra time against Bryant.


Men’s Soccer Returns to Play with Decisive 4-0 Victory

Harvard was victorious in its first match since Nov. 16, 2019, as it cruised to a 4-0 victory over Central Connecticut State University on Sunday. The four-goal margin was the Crimson’s largest victory since 2016, and its largest opening day victory since 2002.


Men's Soccer Begins New Chapter, Moving on from Lehrer

Pieter Lehrer, The Virginia B. and James O. Welch '52 Head Coach for Harvard Men's Soccer, will not be returning to coach the Crimson next fall. Lehrer spent seven seasons at Harvard, accumulating a 42-58-13 record during that period.

Winless Men's Soccer Drops Home Matchup to Dartmouth

This past weekend, the Harvard men’s soccer team continued to struggle in conference play as it fell against Ivy League rival Dartmouth 3-1 at home. After keeping it tied up at 1-1 for a majority of the first half, the Big Green pulled away with goals late in the first and early in the second.

Freshman forward Duncan Sutherland picked up his first goal of his collegiate career on Tuesday vs Merrimack.


Men’s Soccer Falters at Vermont, Providence

Coming off of an opening weekend which may have seen it play its two strongest opponents of the season, Harvard rounded out its opening string of away games with contests against Providence and Vermont.

Men's Soccer Suffers Opening Sweep against No. 5 Duke, No. 20 UNC

Though the Crimson's defense showed some promise, star opponents broke the team down on opening weekend.


The Boys in Blue

Chelsea FC practiced at Harvard ahead of its May 15 friendly against the New England Revolution. The Blues will have to head back across the pond right after the match in preparation for their May 29 Europa League final in Baku, Azerbaijan against fellow London squad Arsenal.


A Pro Debut for Matty Ice

Matt Freese played two seasons for the Crimson before signing a professional contract with the Union in Dec. 2018.


Men's Soccer Goalkeeper Matt Freese Goes Pro

Harvard sophomore Matt Freese has chosen to forego his further two years of NCAA eligibility, as he signed for the Philadelphia Union on Friday. Freese spent time in the Union Academy before coming to Harvard, and will now join six other homegrown players on the Union roster.


Men's Soccer Drops 2-1 Decision against Columbia

For the third game in a row, the Crimson was faced with less than ideal weather. The Crimson played in fairly windy conditions on its Senior Night after enduring hail and rain in Hanover, N.H., and cancelling a game against Northeastern due to lightning.
