Martin Baron, executive editor of the Washington Post, received the Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism at the Harvard Institute of Politics Tuesday.Baron oversaw the Post’s 2014 reporting that revealed the National Security Administration was conducting widespread secret surveillance of civilians.


Labor Leader and Rights Advocate Dolores Huerta to Receive Radcliffe Medal

Prominent labor leader and civil rights activist Dolores C. Huerta will receive this year’s Radcliffe Medal, the highest honor given by the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. It is given annually to an individual committed to “excellence, inclusion, and social impact."


Bryce Dallas Howard Named Hasty Pudding’s 2019 Woman of the Year

Bryce Dallas Howard, an American actress, producer, and director, has been named the Hasty Pudding Theatricals 2019 Woman of the Year. As is tradition for Woman of the Year festivities, Hasty Pudding Theatricals will parade through the streets of Harvard Square in Howard’s honor Thursday.


Extension School Graduate Becomes First Harvard Affiliate to Win Rhodes in China

Chen, a 2018 graduate of the American Repertory Theater Institute and the Extension School at Harvard, is the first Harvard affiliate to receive the Rhodes Scholarship in mainland China, bringing the total number of University-affiliated winners this year to six.
