Eid Mubarak to all students celebrating Eid Al-Adha on this refreshing fall day.

Harvard Today: Oct. 8, 2013

It's Tuesday, which means it's not Monday but it's also not Friday yet. Hang in there—it's almost hump day! Here's what going on at Harvard today.

Harvard Today: Oct. 7, 2013

Ah, Monday—we meet again. Let's all roll out of bed and get this over with. To make the beginning of the week a little less painful, here's a summary of what's happening on campus today.

Harvard Today: Oct. 4, 2013

It’s the first weekend of October after a week that felt like anything but fall. Make the most of what is mostly still nice weather with a picnic—or at least by studying for those midterms outdoors.

Stress-Eating for the Soul

Hungry right now? You probably are. And if you’re not (weirdo), you probably will be within the next 20 minutes. As Harvard students, we are constantly running from lecture to meeting to section and don’t always have time for a full meal. And even if you do manage to squeeze in three a day, you’re probably still hungry from all those calories spent thinking and working out (our brains, that is...). This is where snacking comes in. You sprint into the dining hall and grab the easiest item—if you’re smart, that’s an apple, but most likely it’s a bagel or cookie. But there are better foods to eat that will be delicious and keep you alert until your next food break!

Harvard Today: Oct. 2, 2013

If you’ve got tickets to the star-studded Du Bois ceremony, go to that! If not, go take a nap on the grass in the Yard or something!

Harvard Today: October 1, 2013

The government may be shut down, but Harvard’s still chugging along (for now, at least). If you're feeling disgusted by American democracy today, you're not alone (see: "Dollarocracy"). If you're looking to be inspired by hearing about people who actually made change, head to a screening of "Left on Pearl," a documentary on the historic events of International Women's Day 1971 at Harvard. And if you're looking to forget about politics altogether, munch on a farmer's market apple in the sun.

Food Literacy Project Tours Local Farm

Harvard students basked in the fragrance of freshly-baked cider doughnuts and roamed through rows of crops with produce that will later be served in Harvard dining halls during an excursion to the Wilson Farm on Friday.

Harvard Today: Sept. 30, 2013

Happy last day of September, folks! The leaves are turning red and classes are getting real, so it must be nearly October.

Harvard Today: September 26, 2013

Well, Dunkin' Donuts is back, and Ted Cruz has finally finished reading out of the phone book. Enjoy the sun today—maybe one of the last days to jump off of Weeks Bridge?

Harvard Today: Sept. 25, 2013

Try something new by attending a lecture on a controversial poet or groundbreaking astronomy research, or stick to the tried-and-true Italian favorites in the d-halls. Wednesdays are all about options.

Harvard Today: Sept. 24, 2013

Feeling stressed about classes already, or just mad that midterms are already happening three weeks into the semester? Zen your life this Tuesday with some sitting meditation or fresh produce (or, you know, a term-billed Wellness Center massage…)

Harvard Updates Mobile App

Just a few swipes across a smartphone touch screen will now give students answers to their dining hall-related questions. Thanks to a new update to the Harvard Mobile smartphone app, the dining section now includes comprehensive nutritional data and updated hours for all of Harvard University Dining Services’ dishes and dining halls.

Student Cooks Up HUDS-Inspired Poetry

Looking to take a break from procrastinating on your p-set? Look no further than "HUDS Haiku," a Tumblr page created by an anonymous member of the Class of 2014. Since its debut last spring, the page has received over 1,000 views and is beginning to pick up even more steam around campus this semester.

Harvard Today: Sept. 23, 2013

Another weekend come and gone. Eat away your Monday sorrows with some free Yogurtland, and see below to check out what else is going on at Harvard today.

Food Mashup: Annenberg Edition

Having been here for almost a month now, the novelty of getting to eat hamburgers and spaghetti all the time has officially faded. Even ice cream just isn’t so special anymore. (Disclaimer: It’s probably due to the fact that I’ve had ice cream basically every day here; freshman fifteen here I come!)

Harvard Today: Sept. 19, 2013

Warm weather returns, giving us hope for a few more weeks of summer here at Harvard. Get out in the sun!

Harvard Today: Sept. 18, 2013

Free breakfast this morning to get you through Hump Day! Followed by plenty of food - for thought—throughout the rest of the day.

Harvard Today: Sept. 16, 2013

Happy Monday! Everyone’s favorite day of the week is upon us once again, so put a spring in your step as you bound out the door this morning, and check out what’s going on at Harvard today.

Harvard Today: Sept. 13, 2013

The heat wave that left you looking for air-conditioned study spaces yesterday appears to be taking the weekend off. You might have to spend some time inside on Friday—or dance in the rain, the choice is yours—but the second weekend of the year shows some promise.
