Coach Joseph Stubbs '20 of the hockey team has issued the first official call for hockey candidates to meet at the Varsity Club at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon. The gathering will be addressed by Coach Stubbs and Dr. Augustus Thorndike Jr. '17.

The new Madison Square Garden will be used for practice this year instead of the Boston Arena. It is also expected that all home games will be played in the new Garden.

The returning veterans are: John Tudor '29, Captain, A. S. Bigelow '29, H. W. Bigelow '29, F. R. G. Giddens '30, G. C. Holbrook '30, and C. B. Lakin '30.

Goal Berth is Open

Several goalies are in line for the berth left vacant by the graduation of Joseph Morrill Jr. '28. The most promising are W. L. Elkins '29, O. P. Jackson '29, H. H. Newell, '29, and Hardy Ellis '31. M. G. Gammack '31, stellar goalie on last year's Freshman team, is ineligible for the team. Of last year's Freshman contingent, S. L. Batchelder '31 and J. B. Garrison '31 seem to be the most promising prospects.

Competitions for second assistant manager of hockey, open to all Sophomores in good standing, will open tomorrow at 1.30 o'clock with a meeting of the candidates in the Managers Room of the H. A. A.
