Glee Club Will Hold First Rehearsal of Year Tonight

149 Tentative Members to Start Work on Beethoven Piece

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Tonight at 7 o'clock the Glee Club will stage its first rehearsal, with 149 tentative new members. Of this number seven are first tenors, 25 are second tenors; 66, baritones; and 51, basses.

Work will begin immediately on Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis", which is scheduled definitely for performance with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the spring. Not since 1927 has the Glee Club presented this composition, (this was on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Beethoven's death), nor had it been presented for many years prior to that.

Members of the House Glee Clubs in Eliot, Leverett, and Winthrop have suggested that rejected candidates for the Glee Club try out for the smaller organizations.
