Suspect Arrested After Saturday Morning Stabbing in Harvard Square
Cambridge police arrested a suspect Saturday morning after a stabbing in Harvard Square left one person with multiple injuries.
Officers, along with fire and EMS personnel, responded to reports of a stabbing on Church Street at approximately 9:15 a.m., according to an alert from the Cambridge Police Department sent Saturday afternoon. Witnesses then told police that a suspect had fled the scene.
The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for serious injuries, according to the alert.
CPD and Transit Police officers later arrested a suspect inside the Harvard Square MBTA station.

Spokespeople for CPD and Transit Police did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The incident remains under investigation and there is no ongoing threat to public safety, according to the alert.
Saturday’s stabbing is the second violent incident near Harvard Square in just three days. On Christmas morning, CPD responded to a shooting at a residence on Howard Street that left two injured.
