Crimson on the World Stage: How to Follow the 2026 Harvard Olympians
As the 2026 Winter Olympics kick off in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Harvard’s Olympians are ready to make their marks on the greatest stage in sports. This year, three Crimson student-athletes, a slight drop from the five who represented Harvard in Beijing in 2022, will compete in events spanning both snow and ice. Here is how to catch them live as they chase medal hopes across northern Italy over the coming weeks.
Kristin Della Rovere ’23: Ice Hockey, Team Italy
Despite hailing from Ontario, Kristin Della Rovere is lacing up her skates for Team Italy after earning her Italian citizenship. Once a psychology concentrator in Pforzheimer House, the Crimson’s former captain and center is suiting up for the Italian women's ice hockey team. Della Rovere played in 128 games during her collegiate stint with Harvard. The first-time Olympian is also currently rostered with the Toronto Sceptres of the PWHL.
The host nation kicked off its campaign on Thursday, where Della Rovere logged 16 minutes of ice time and recorded a goal and an assist in an impressive 4-1 win over France. The victory was historic for the Italian women’s hockey team, which had never before tallied a win on the Olympic stage.

Rémi Drolet ’24: Cross Country Skiing, Team Canada
The trails of these Winter Games will feel familiar to Remi Drolet ’24, as the second-time Olympian prepares to compete in cross-country skiing for Team Canada. Hailing from Rossland, British Columbia, the physics and mathematics concentrator lived in Adams House and graduated Magna Cum Laude. During his time at Harvard, Drolet also qualified for the 2022 Olympics, where he helped spur his team to an 11th-place finish in the 4x10 relay, placed 33rd in the 15-kilometer Classic, 57th in the Men’s Skiathlon, and 35th in the 50-kilometer Mass Start race.

At Harvard, Maschmeyer lived in Quincy House and concentrated in sociology while also recording 2,538 saves during her collegiate career. She currently holds the honor of being the Crimson’s all-time career saves leader. Maschmeyer is also a goaltender for the Vancouver Goldeneyes of the PWHL.
Maschmeyer and Team Canada had an untraditional start to the Olympics, as their opening matchup against Finland was postponed due to a norovirus outbreak within the Finnish team.
