Cambridge Police Investigating Body Found in Fresh Pond
The Cambridge Police Department and Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are investigating a body found in the water at Fresh Pond Tuesday morning.
CPD first responded to reports of a body in the water around 11:30 a.m. on the northeastern edge of the pond, according to recordings of a dispatch call that were made public on an online police scanner.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the body appeared to have been in the water for “an extended period of time,” according to a Tuesday afternoon press release from CPD and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
As of around 1 p.m., Massachusetts State Police and CPD officers remained on the scene.
