WASHINGTON, Oct. 8--Psychological and disturbances are the real causes behind the so-called student revolution in morality, Dr. Graham B. Blaine Jr. '40, chief of psychiatric services, stated here today.
Speaking on sex, drugs, and extremism in a morning panel discussion at the annual meeting of the American Council on Education, Dr. Blaine observed that certain personality characteristics are related to a student's actions and attitudes toward authority.
Dr. Blaine noted that "the average college undergraduate, by his nature," prefers a sexual relationship that is emotionally and physically intimate and private, but not one that includes intercourse. But driven by an unconscious need to prove "masculinity or fertility, a college student may ignore logical precautions and unfortunate consequences
