The Mills are Alive
Originally a water polo recruit, a knee injury in high school forced senior Kate Mills to give up the sport. She was able to stay in the pool, and has become a successful collegiate swimmer, recently qualifying for the Olympic trials for the upcoming 2012 London games in the 200m butterfly. She is still working to make the trials for two more events.
Run of the Mills
Senior Kate Mills, shown here in earlier action, set a pair of pool records in Harvard’s first meet of the season, helping the Crimson defeat Dartmouth and Cornell. Mills captured a win 200-yard butterfly in 2:01.19 and was part of a first-place 400-yard freestyle relay team.
General Mills
Junior Kate Mills had another strong showing at Saturday’s HYP tri-meet, notching three top-three individual finishes. Mills touched the wall in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:58.76, good for an NCAA “B” cut.
SWAN DIVE
Harvard takes on Princeton and Yale this weekend. Together, the three teams are a combined 13-0 in the Ivy League, making Friday’s highly-anticipated HYP meet a de facto race for first place in the Ancient Eight.
Water Mill
Looking to continue its dominance from last season—during which it won the Ivy title—the Harvard women’s swimming and diving team looks in fine form. Junior Kate Mills was just one of the names to receive accolades this weekend, winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.51.
