Record Breakers and Title Snatchers: Track and Field, the Team of the Year

Breaking records left and right, marking new tournament and Ivy League titles in its record book, and sending athletes across the country to take podium places at every meet, Harvard track and field has earned itself the honor of Team of Year — both on paper and in the hearts of its members — who will remember the 2022-23 season as a season like no other.


For First Time in Program History, Both Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams Crowned at Outdoor Heptagonals

Harvard track and field made program history this past weekend during the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at the University of Pennsylvania. For the first time in history, both the men’s and women’s teams won the Ivy League title. The historic win marks the men’s team’s eleventh title, and first since 1983. The women’s team claimed their sixth outdoor championship title, along with the honor of triple-crowning.


Four School Records Fall for Harvard Track and Field at LSU and Wake Forest

The Harvard track and field team sent athletes to three different meets this past weekend. The distance team traveled to the Sean Collier Invite at MIT and the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., while sprinters and throwers headed down south to the LSU Alumni Gold meet. The team posted another weekend of strong results, breaking four records across the three meets.


On Fire: Harvard Track and Field Breaks More Records at UConn Northeast Challenge

At the UConn Northeast Challenge, Harvard track and field engineered another successful weekend. The team had two field athletes break their own previous records, as well as eight first-place finishes. Both the Harvard men’s and women’s teams currently lead the northeast region in the national rankings.


Harvard Track and Field Pairs up with Yale to Defeat Cambridge and Oxford at 126th HYOC Meet

The Harvard track and field team hosted Yale, Oxford, and Cambridge at the 126th HYOC meet this Saturday, April 8th. The historic meet occurs every two years, alternating between the four universities. The win this weekend marks Harvard’s 14th consecutive win at HYOC, as it has won every matchup since 1993. The Crimson competed alongside Yale against the two UK schools, defeating Oxford and Cambridge 26-10.


Nine First-Place Finishes, Two New School Records for Harvard Track and Field During Second Week of Outdoor Season

This past weekend, the Harvard track and field team competed at the Raleigh Relays, Hurricane Invite, and UMass Lowell Riverhawk Invite. The track team saw great success in the second week of its outdoor season, earning nine first-place finishes and setting two new school records.

“Our men’s program is coming off of a historic indoor season, where we scored more than 30 points than any other men’s program has in Harvard history,” junior sprinter Lance Ward said. “Going into the first meet of the outdoor season, our coach said ‘Let’s continue that trajectory. Let’s keep chasing that Ivy Title.’”
