The winter entrance examinations of the University of Chicago will be held Dec. 21 to Dec. 23. The examinations are given in three places besides at the University.
A thesis on some subject taken up in course will be substituted for the midyear examination in Mathematics 3 this year. There will be a regular three hour paper at the finals.

At the boxing tournament of the N. E. A. A. A. U. held in the Boston Music Hall Tuesday evening, H. Cornish of the B. A. A. was the master of ceremonies. Among the winners were O'Brien, Doherty, Kelly, and Folan.
The Manhattan Athletic Club of New York is considering the advisability of dropping athletics entirely for a year in order to curtail expenses. At present the expenses for training and equipping men for track athletics, baseball, football, and rowing averages about $25,000 a year.
Tuesday afternoon President Adams of the University of Wisconsin called a meeting of the faculty and the students to form a Boating Association. A corporation with a capital of $4,500 was formed and instructed to build a boat house and to make arrangements to put a crew on the water.
